Tapioca Syrup Solids

Matco's tapioca syrup solids are tapioca syrup in spray-dried powder form, available in conventional, certified organic and infant grades. They are gluten-free, non-GMO, vegan and hypoallergenic, and carry the clean, neutral character of the liquid syrup into a free-flowing dry format.\n Dry formulations cannot take a viscous syrup: it complicates dosing, upsets flow and shortens shelf life. Syrup solids solve that. Tapioca's particular advantage in powder form is neutrality: it sweetens, adds body and bulk, and reconstitutes cleanly, all without contributing taste or color to a finished blend

Tapioca Syrup Solids Product Range

Organic Tapioca Syrup Solids range

Organic Tapioca Syrup Solids

Made from organically grown cassava under a certified organic process, with transaction certificates issued on every lot for your certifier. The usual choice for organic instant drinks, bars and powdered nutrition.
Infant Grade Tapioca Syrup Solids range

Infant Grade Tapioca Syrup Solids

Produced and tested against the tighter contaminant, residue and microbiological limits that infant formula and baby food require, with a Certificate of Analysis against the infant specification on every shipment. The natural choice where a non-rice base is preferred. Also available certified organic.

Grades

All grades are produced across a range of DE levels. Lower DE grades are milder and better at building body; higher DE grades are sweeter and dissolve faster. Tell us the application and we will recommend a DE and send a sample.

Frequently Asked Questions

Tapioca syrup that has been spray-dried into a fine, free-flowing powder. The sugar profile and sweetness stay essentially the same as the liquid syrup; only the format changes, which makes it usable in dry formulations where a syrup cannot go.
Cassava root. The starch is extracted from cassava, converted enzymatically into syrup, then spray-dried into powder. The plant is cassava; the refined starch and its derivatives are tapioca.
Both are dried tapioca-based carbohydrate powders, but syrup solids are converted further, so they are noticeably sweeter and behave as a sweetener. Maltodextrin stops short of that, staying bland and functional as a carrier and bulking agent.
Dry formulations cannot easily take a viscous liquid: it complicates dosing, disturbs powder flow and can shorten shelf life. Syrup solids give the same sweetness and body in a powder that stores, ships and meters cleanly.
Yes. Cassava contains no gluten, and our process uses no animal-derived inputs. The powder is hypoallergenic, non-GMO and free of soy, dairy, corn and rice.
DE (dextrose equivalent) measures how far the starch has been converted to sugar. Lower DE means milder sweetness and more body; higher DE means more sweetness and faster dissolution. Syrup solids sit above 20 DE, which is what distinguishes them from maltodextrin.
Stored sealed in original packaging in a cool, dry place away from strong odors, they typically keep 24 months. As a low-moisture powder the ingredient is microbiologically stable; the main storage risk is moisture pickup, which causes caking.
Yes. Sample quantities are available for lab evaluation with the technical data sheet before any commercial commitment, and we can sample more than one DE level so you can compare in your own system.
