Organic Tapioca Maltodextrin

Matco's Organic Tapioca Maltodextrin is a neutral, easily dispersible carbohydrate powder made from certified organic tapioca starch. It is gluten-free, non-GMO, vegan and hypoallergenic, with low sweetness and a clean, bland profile, produced across a range of DE levels.

Of all the maltodextrin sources, tapioca is the most completely neutral, contributing no taste and no color whatsoever. In organic formulation, where flavor systems are often gentler and have less to hide behind, that neutrality is exactly what formulators want.

Frequently Asked Questions

A carbohydrate powder made by partially breaking down certified organic tapioca starch with enzymes. It dissolves easily like a sugar but tastes almost neutral, which is why it is used as a carrier, bulking agent and texture builder rather than a sweetener.
Certified organic cassava root. The starch is extracted from cassava, converted enzymatically and dried into a fine, free-flowing powder. The plant is cassava; the refined starch and its derivatives are tapioca.
Both the raw material and the processing are certified. The cassava comes from certified organic growers, conversion and drying run on segregated certified organic production, and each lot ships with a transaction certificate your certifier can verify.
Tapioca contributes no taste or color at all, which protects delicate flavor systems and suits beverages and dairy. Rice offers the broader grade range and is long established in infant nutrition. Both are certified organic from us, so you can sample each in your own system.
Yes. Cassava contains no gluten, and the ingredient is vegan, hypoallergenic and free of soy, dairy, corn and rice.
DE (dextrose equivalent) measures how far the starch has been broken down. Lower DE grades are less sweet and better at building body; higher DE grades dissolve faster and carry slightly more sweetness. Above 20 DE the ingredient is classed as a syrup solid rather than a maltodextrin.
Yes. Sample quantities are available for lab evaluation with the technical data sheet and certification documents before any commercial commitment.
