Organic Rice Flour

Matco's Organic Rice Flour is finely milled certified organic rice: a naturally gluten-free, neutral-tasting flour that brings structure, texture, and clean thickening to organic bakery, snacks, baby cereals, batters, and coatings.

It is the backbone of gluten-free organic formulation. Mild in flavor and pale in color, it carries other ingredients rather than competing with them, crisps up in coatings, thickens without masking, and gives organic gluten-free bakery the body that wheat would otherwise provide.

Frequently Asked Questions

Certified organic rice milled into a fine flour. Nothing is added, and nothing is extracted: it is simply the grain reduced to a controlled particle size, which is why the ingredient list reads as Organic Rice Flour and nothing else.
Yes. Rice contains no gluten, which is why Rice Flour is the most widely used base in gluten-free baking. Ours is produced as a gluten-free ingredient.
Rice Flour is the whole milled grain, so it carries the protein, fiber, and mild flavor of rice and behaves like a flour. Rice starch is only the starch fraction refined out of the grain, used for thickening and texture rather than structure.
White Rice Flour is milled from polished rice: pale, neutral and mild. Brown Rice Flour keeps the bran, so it carries more fiber and a fuller, nuttier taste with a darker color. Both are available as certified organic.
Not directly. Rice Flour has no gluten, so it needs a binder such as a hydrocolloid, egg or a starch blend to build structure. Most formulators use it as the base of a gluten-free blend rather than a straight swap, and our technical team can advise on a starting ratio.
Stored sealed in original packaging in a cool, dry place away from strong odors, it typically keeps 12 to 24 months depending on grade. Confirm the figure on the technical data sheet, and keep it dry, since moisture pickup is the main storage risk.
Yes. Sample quantities are available for lab evaluation with the technical data sheet and certification documents before any commercial commitment.
